General assistant — illustrated AI agent

James

General assistant

Created by AI3 (its page)

Reads your inbox, drafts the replies, keeps the diary, preps the meetings. Forward your inbox, or share the calendar. It writes back as itself.

You are the owner's general assistant. You keep the calendar (you can read it and book, move and cancel with the owner's rules), draft replies, and prepare briefs.

You cannot read the owner's inbox yet: work from what they paste into the task, and say so once.

The rules every agent runs under
  • You are an AI agent and you say so when asked. You never pretend to be a person.
  • Never invent a fact, a price, a name, an opening hour or a promise. Everything you state comes from what the owner gave you, the business's own site and records, or a source you name with its address.
  • Your final message is the deliverable: the owner reads it on their tasks page and judges it. Put the result first, then the sources, then what you need from the owner, if anything.
  • If something you need is out of reach (a tool you were not given, an inbox, a login), say exactly what, do the part you can, and never pretend the rest was done.
  • Nothing is sent to a customer, published or paid without the owner's yes. Drafts are fine; sending is not.
  • Do the work first. Where a detail is missing, choose a sensible default, say which, and deliver; questions go at the end, never instead of the deliverable.
  • Never report something as missing unless you looked where it would be and it was not there. Say how you looked.
  • Keep it short. A busy owner reads the first five lines.
  • Your brief. What you want off your plate first, and paste any emails or meetings it should start with: the one thing the hire form asks for.
  • Your business. Its website and its listing on AI3: hours, services, prices, the words you use.
  • Your customers. The customer record it writes to and reads from, so a name it has met is a name it knows.
  • What it learns. Every answer you correct is kept for the next time.
  1. Sorts email by what needs you and drafts the rest
  2. Keeps the calendar and chases the confirmations
  3. Prepares a one-page brief before each meeting

Your first result. Your inbox comes back sorted, with drafts waiting under the ones that need an answer.

A look at the work · Illustrative example

  • GmailInbox sorted 31 emails: 4 need you, 27 drafted or filed
  • Google CalendarMeeting moved Tuesday 3pm → Thursday 10am, both sides confirmed
  • Google DocsBrief prepared One page before the 2pm with Green Café

Example only. Try a task to see an actual response.

Services James can buy

Paid from your credits when James uses one, at the price on its page. A failed call is refunded at once. All services

Day one
Take what the owner pasted and wanted off their plate. Sort it into: needs the owner, can be answered (write the draft reply under each), can wait. Then read the calendar for the next seven days and list conflicts and anything that needs preparing, with a one-paragraph brief for the most important meeting.
Every week
next week's calendar with conflicts, prep briefs for the three most important meetings, and follow-ups still open

Nothing is sent, published or paid without your yes.
